This beautiful mug features Hortense de Beauharnais, Napoleon's beloved stepdaughter. In 1802 she married Napoleon's younger brother Louis Bonaparte, and became Queen of Holland when her husband was King in 1806-10. The marriage proved unhappy although the couple had three children, including Napoleon III.
