Sustainability

We are committed to running a sustainable business at Napoleonic Impressions. While the impact of climate change is clear for everyone to see, sustainability means more than environmental protection. It means building positive relationships with our customers to ensure that we can sustain our operations far into the future. On this page, we describe the commitments we make to our stakeholders to ensure our long term sustainability.

Our Customers

We created Napoleonic Impressions for you – our customers. We might have our own particular interests, but we can only be successful if we create designs and products which you want to buy. As we grow our range of products and designs, we depend on your advice and input to improve our store and will regularly ask for your advice through email or social media. Of course, you are always welcome to contact us if you have any suggestions or feedback.

As part of our commitment to serving our customers well, we process all our customer data in accordance with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more information about how we process your personal data.

Our Contributors

We are always open to working with freelance artists and bloggers to contribute content for our store and our website, especially content creators who are already part of our Napoleonic community. We recognise that a lot of freelance work is poorly compensated and we will make sure that you are paid a fair price for your work.

Our Environment

Climate change and environmental protection is an issue that none of us can ignore. The fashion industry has been under increasing scrutiny for the amount of clothing that ends of in landfill every year. It is estimated that 300,000 tonnes of clothing is sent to landfill every year in the UK alone.

As a business that sells T-shirts and other apparel items, we recognise that we have a responsibility to reduce our environmental impact. Our print on demand business model goes a long way to reducing waste. Unlike traditional retailers which order items in bulk and often end up disposing unsold items, each of our products are printed only once a customer has placed an order.

We also aim to ensure that our products are sustainably sourced and work with suppliers who recognise the need to reduce their environmental impact. For example, our T-shirts are made by Bella + Canvas, a clothing manufacturer which is extremely environmentally conscious when it comes to their production process. Bella + Canvas uses solar power to run sewing and cutting facilities, and their dyeing process uses up to seven times less water than competitors.

Our Heritage

We are not only concerned about protection of our natural environment, but also the built environment. Hundreds and thousands of buildings slowly decay and fall into disrepair every year. As history lovers, we believe that our built heritage should be preserved for future generations. We will therefore donate 2-5% of our profits to heritage charities or heritage conservation projects. We will decide on specific causes after consulting with our customers, giving you a voice in deciding which causes you would like us to support.
