This postcard features an illustration of the Duke of Wellington on horseback in novoiberian style. The artwork is inspired by Francisco de Goya's equestrian portrait of Wellington depicting the British general wearing the black frock coat which he wore on campaign. The painting was made for Wellington's entry into Madrid in 1812, the same year he took command of all the allied armies in Spain.
