Description:

This art print of Queen Louise of Prussia will be sure to brighten up any room. Born Louise of Mecklenberg-Strelitz in 1776, she married Crown Prince Frederick William in 1793 and became Queen upon her husband's succession as King Frederick William III in 1797.

Louise is best known for her efforts to persuade Napoleon to give more favourable terms to Prussia during the negotiations at Tilsit in 1807. Although she was unsuccessful, for her efforts Napoleon described her as 'the only man in Prussia.'

Louise had nine children with Frederick William, including future kings of Prussia Frederick William IV and William I. She died in 1810 at the age of 34, leaving the King heartbroken.
