This funny history T-shirt features Prussian Field Marshal Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher in the guise of an elephant. Nicknamed Marshal Forwards, the flamboyant Blücher is best known for coming to the Duke of Wellington's aid at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
You may well ask why we have made Blücher an elephant. After Prussia's defeat to Napoleon in 1806-07, Blücher suffered from a breakdown, a side effect of which involved falling under the delusion of being about to give birth to an elephant. This happened on several occasions, including in 1814 following his victory over Napoleon at the Battle of Laon.
