Napoleon Bee Wreath Mug

£15.00
Unit price  per
history

Description:

Bees were an important part of Napoleon's imperial insignia. Napoleon believed that the Emperor Charlemagne had used the bee as an imperial symbol (it was in fact a cicada), and also chose the bee as it symbolised industriousness and hard work.

This mug features a golden bee surrounded by a laurel wreath in 19th century fashion. This design is made by Ami, a freelance artist based in Amman, Jordan. She enjoys illustrating history inspired art and creating comics. Follow Ami on Twitter at @Tookunami. Check out Ami's other designs on her collection page.
