This mug features artwork of British General Sir John Moore. Born in Glasgow, over the course of his career Moore had served all over the world including North America, Egypt, and Sweden. In 1809, while commander of the British Expeditionary Force in the Iberian Peninsula, he was killed overseeing its retreat to the port of Corunna.
