Description:
This art print features Jean Lannes, one of Napoleon's most talented marshals as well as a close personal friend. Lannes distinguished himself during many of Napoleon's greatest battles including Jena (1806) and Friedland (1807). Lannes was mortally wounded at the Battle of Aspern-Essling in 1809 and his death left Napoleon heartbroken. For his bravery in battle, Lannes was nicknamed the Roland of the Grande Armée.
