This mug is part of our matryoshka collection inspired by Russian nesting dolls. This design features a bespectacled Marshal Louis-Nicolas Davout, one of Napoleon's most talented marshals. A strict disciplinarian and an excellent defensive general, he was given the nickname of Iron Marshal.

During the Battle of Austerlitz in 1805, Davout defended tenaciously on the right flank against the allied assault on the villages of Sokolnitz and Telnitz, but his greatest moment came in 1806 when he defeated the main Prussian army with a single corps at the Battle of Auerstedt.
