This beautiful mug features Empress Josephine, Napoleon's first wife. Napoleon Bonaparte and Josephine de Beauharnais were married in 1796, just before the young General Bonaparte departed on his Italian campaign. Josephine became Empress in 1804 following Napoleon's proclamation of the First French Empire.
