Description:
This mug is part of our matryoshka collection inspired by Russian nesting dolls. This design features Marshal Jean Lannes, one of Napoleon's most talented marshals as well as a close personal friend. Lannes distinguished himself at the Battle of Friedland in June 1807, enticing General Bennigsen's Russian army to cross the River Alle and allowing Napoleon to trap him against the river. Lannes was mortally wounded at the Battle of Aspern-Essling in 1809 and his death left Napoleon heartbroken.
