This mug is part of our matryoshka collection inspired by Russian nesting dolls. The design features Tsar Alexander I of Russia, who ruled Russia between 1801 and 1825. Alexander was present at the Battle of Austerlitz in 1805, when the Austro-Russian coalition army was defeated in one of Napoleon's greatest victories.

Alexander would exact his revenge in 1812 by adopting a scorched earth strategy against Napoleon's invasion. He was instrumental in the formation of the Sixth Coalition and the successful campaigns of 1813-1814 resulting in the allies capturing Paris and forcing Napoleon's abdication.
