Description:

British General Sir John Moore was born in Glasgow and had served all over the world including North America, Egypt, and Sweden during his military career. In 1809, while commander of the British Expeditionary Force in the Iberian Peninsula, he was killed overseeing its retreat to the port of Corunna.
